Prof. Dr. Pasquale Pistone is the Academic Chairman of IBFD. He holds a Jean Monnet ad personam Chair in European Tax Law and Policy at WU Vienna University of Economics and Business (Austria) and is Associate Professor of Tax Law at the University of Salerno (Italy). His main fields of expertise are European and international tax law, in which he is regarded as a top academic expert in various parts of the world.
Adjunct to the Academic Chairman
Prof. Jan de Goede is Senior Principal, Tax Knowledge Management, reporting to the CEO of IBFD. He previously held several management positions at IBFD, lastly the position of Director of the IBFD Knowledge Centre. Besides his responsibilities for tax knowledge management, he also performs many academic, teaching and government consultancy activities.
Dr. Joanna C. Wheeler is Senior Principal Associate at the IBFD Academic Department. Previously, she served as editor of many different IBFD publications and as the founding editor of IBFD’s database on trusts. Ms Wheeler pioneered IBFD's programme of online courses; before that, she designed a number of classroom courses and taught regularly in classroom courses for IBFD's International Tax Training.

Ruth Mason joined the University of Virginia School of Law faculty in the 2013 autumn semester as a professor of law. Prior to joining the law school, she was the Anthony J. Smits Professor of Global Commerce at the University of Connecticut School of Law. Prof. Mason has also been a visiting professor at Johannes Kepler University, Leiden University, Université Paris 1 (Panthéon Sorbonne) and Yale Law School.

is Managing Editor of the Global Tax Treaty Commentaries (GTTC) and Scientific Coordinator of the Observatory on the Protection of Taxpayers’ Rights (OPTR). She obtained her law degree summa cum laude from Andrés Bello Catholic University, in Caracas, and holds an LLM and a PhD in Law from the Central University of Venezuela. From 2016-2017, she was a postdoctoral research fellow at IBFD.
Prof. Dr Carlos E. Weffe

Prof. Dr. Craig West
is managing editor of the World Tax Journal at IBFD. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Cape Town, and his areas of expertise are international and South African income tax, in which he has published a number of articles and chapters.
Dr. Ricardo Garcia Antón
is a Senior Research Associate at IBFD. He was educated at the University of Seville, where he graduated in Law in 2002. He holds a master’s degree in Taxation from the Instituto de Estudios Fiscales/University of Seville (Spain) and an advanced LLM in Comparative, European and International Law from the European University Institute (EUI).

Andrés Báez Moreno is a postdoctoral research fellow at IBFD on selected issues of the UN Model, Associate Professor of Tax Law at Universidad Carlos III in Madrid (Spain) and lawyer at the Madrid bar association. He has been a visiting pre and postdoctoral researcher at the Universities of Münster and Cologne (Germany), Padova (Italy) at IBFD and Max Planck Institut für Steuerrecht und öffentliche Finanzen (München, Germany).
Dr. Katerina Perrou
is a postdoctoral research fellow at IBFD, where she focuses on Tax Treaty Issues. She graduated from the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. She holds an LLM in Public Law from the same university. She completed her PhD on “Taxpayer participation in tax treaty dispute resolution” at the IALS, University of London, United Kingdom, under the supervision of Philip Baker. The research was published in 2014 as volume number 28 of the IBFD Doctoral Series.
is a postdoctoral research fellow at IBFD. He is also a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Law, University of Rijeka, Croatia, where he first started to work as a research assistant in 2011. In 2016, Mr Gadžo received his PhD in Law from the University of Zagreb, Croatia.
Dr Álvaro Antón Antón
is a postdoctoral research fellow at IBFD focusing his research on double tax treaties, also in the framework of IBFD's IBFD’s Global Tax Treaty Commentaries (GTTC).
He is an Associate Professor at CEU Cardenal Herrera University (Valencia and Elche, Spain).
Dr Antón holds an International PhD (cum laude) in Tax Law from CEU Cardenal Herrera University, where he also graduated in Law in 2007 and Journalism in 2009.
Luís Flávio Neto
is a postdoctoral research fellow at IBFD. He is also a professor at the Instituto Brasileiro de Direito Tributário (IBDT) in Brazil, where he has taught international and Brazilian taxation courses. He has also taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the Universidade São Judas Tadeu in Brazil, as well as several other academic institutions as a visiting professor
Tarcísio Diniz Magalhães
is a postdoctoral research fellow at IBFD. He holds a doctoral and master’s degree in Law and Justice (Tax Law), both obtained at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), under full scholarships. He received his Bachelor of Laws with honours, under a partial scholarship, also from UFMG
Adina Moldovan is the project coordinator of the Academic Team. She is fluent in four European languages and has a basic knowledge of a fifth. Ms Moldovan holds a master’s degree in Management from Università della Svizzera italiana of Lugano, Switzerland (2013), and a master’s degree in International Trade (2005) from the Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj, Romania.
Maro Tyfoxylou is a project coordinator for academic research and also provides support for the IBFD/UVA advanced master's programme in international taxation. She holds a master's degree in Education from the Hellenic Open University, Greece (2012). She is fluent in three European languages and has an excellent knowledge of two others. Prior to joining the IBFD Academic Team, Ms Tyfoxylou worked as a project manager for 12 years and was also an oral examiner for the Greek National Foreign Language Exam System.
Cristian San Felipe Maestre is a Project Coordinator at IBFD and is responsible for the executive aspects of several IBFD Academic publications, namely the Global Tax Treaties Commentaries and the World Tax Journal, as well as several books. Mr San Felipe Maestre is also responsible for the Observatory on Protection of Taxpayers’ Rights and the Moot Court Competition.
Yolanda Arbon is the Secretary to IBFD’s Academic Chairman and his team. Previously, Ms Arbon worked for 7 years as the Executive Secretary at IBFD. In this role, Ms Arbon was the first point of contact for the members of the Executive Board. She was also responsible for providing support to the Board of Trustees.
