6th Edition of IBFD and IFA LATAM Webinars on Intl. Taxation and its impact in Latin America
Throughout every Friday in September, IBFD and IFA LATAM jointly hosted the sixth edition of their annual webinar series, focusing on the most pressing issues in international taxation relevant to Latin America. Conducted entirely in Spanish, the webinars are tailored for corporate officers, legal professionals, tax authorities, finance ministry officials, judges, and academics.

This initiative began in 2020 to address the gap left by the absence of physical IFA LATAM congresses during the pandemic, has become a regular update on trending concerns in international taxation, especially those affecting Latin America. This year’s series saw a record level of interest, with over 700 registrations for the sessions.
The first webinar, held on Friday 5 September, explored “Artificial Intelligence and New Perspectives in the Relationships between Administrations and Taxpayers”, moderated by Mariano Ballone, with Ivana Rosa, Ana Claudia Utumi, and Luis Nouel (IBFD KC) as speakers.
The second session, on Friday 12 September, addressed “Transfer Pricing and Customs Valuation”, moderated by Alessandro Turina, with contributions from Juan Carlos Vidal, Alejandro Calderón, and Sharvari Kale (IBFD KC).

On Friday 19 September, the third webinar focused on “International Taxation and Energy Trade in Latin America: Challenges and Opportunities”, moderated by Valentina Cabrera, with Gustavo Noronha, Juan David Velasco, and Ximena García Torres (IBFD KC) as panellists.

The series concluded on 26 September with a session on “Illicit Financial Flows and Recent Developments in International Administrative Cooperation”, moderated by Pasquale Pistone, and featuring Ignacio Gepp, Ramon Anzola, and Diana Caldrón Manrique (IBFD KC).

As with previous editions, the collaboration between Academic and the Knowledge Centre was key to the success of the initiative. The continued commitment to fostering dialogue and sharing expertise ensures that this series remains a cornerstone for the Latin American international tax community.
