IBFD Certificate Policy
Each year, hundreds of international tax professionals choose IBFD as their preferred training provider and place great value on receiving a certificate to validate the knowledge and ability achieved through such a training.
This policy describes the requirements for obtaining an IBFD certificate after following a training as categorized below. Before registering for a training, we recommend reading the 'Products and Services' section on the IBFD General terms and conditions page.
Certification programmes
A study programme with either a set start and end date or a self-chosen start date is followed within a prescribed length of time. View current examples on the Training page.
Once a participant has successfully completed the study programme i.e., fulfilled all the mandatory study activities, they will be able to download their personalized certificate bearing the name of the study programme along with additional information, such as the training period dates, the hours of study/training and related NASBA CPE credits.
Online courses
Typically, a training that can be followed within a few weeks. Once a participant has completed the online course and fulfilled all the study requirements, as indicated on the learning platform, they will be able to download their personalized “Certificate of Professional Training” with additional information, such as the name of the course, the date of completion, the grade percentage achieved in the final assessment, hours of study/training and related NASBA CPE credits.
Masterclasses
These trainings consist typically of in-person sessions in a classroom setting and are held over several days.
During these sessions, attendance will be monitored, and participant signatures obtained (either electronically or on paper) as proof of attendance. Only those who have attended all sessions will receive a “Certificate of Completion”. The certificate will bear the name of the masterclass and additional information, such as the date of the training, and hours of training.
Tailored training
(online live and/or classroom live)
These training programmes are fully customized to meet your organization’s needs and can be followed within a prescribed period of time. They consist typically of a mixture of live sessions, whether online or in a classroom setting, and online self-study.
Throughout the training, attendance will be monitored, and participant signatures obtained (either electronically or on paper) as proof of attendance. Only those who have attended all sessions will receive a “Certificate of Completion”. The certificate will bear the name of the training and additional information such as dates, hours of study/training and/or related CPE credits and, where agreed, the name/logo of client/sponsor(s) or collaborating organizations.
In cases where a tailored training contains mandatory assignments, quizzes and assessments, only upon fulfilling these extra requirements will participants receive a “Certificate of Professional Training”. The certificate will then also show the grade percentage achieved in the final assessment.
