Part of a comparative survey on tax treatment of index participation units in Brazil and India. This part analyses the main characteristics of index participation units (IPUs) and the similarities thereof to certain instruments that are found in Brazil. Also provides a brief description of the tax and accounting treatment of those financial instruments.
