Currently, the VAT exemptions that are so important for financial service providers are not properly defined and lack clarity, which also has a negative effect on the decisions of financial institutions to outsource activities. In this article, the author discusses the current situation and two future developments. He concludes that the Community legislator should do some more work in order to create a workable situation.
