The release of the OECD’s progress report, during the April 2009 G-20 summit, categorizing harmful tax jurisdictions in accordance to their acceptance/implantation of the exchange of information (EOI) standard has seen an increase in the implementation of the EOI standards including signing of Tax Information Exchange Agreements. The authors discuss the EOI standard and the implementation issues with a focus on affected Asian jurisdictions.
