Part of a comparative survey on cost contribution arrangements in Belgium, Canada, France, Spain and the USA. The operating rules of Regulations Section 1.482-7 and the IRS's interpretation of some important issues related to cost sharing arrangements are discussed. The concept of "reasonably anticipated benefits" is discussed, but the determination of reasonably anticipated benefits is beyond the scope of this article.
