In recent weeks, Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan have announced their budgets for the next fiscal year. As the South Asian nations continue to battle the COVID-19 pandemic on the ground, these budgets reflect the concern over the prolonged impact on their respective economies. Both Bangladesh and Nepal have relied on tax cuts and incentives to shore up their domestic economies while Pakistan looks to widen its tax base by imposing sales tax on the operators of online marketplaces.
