The IBFD Frans Vanistendael Award Expands to Two Categories

We are pleased to announce that, starting with the 12th edition of the IBFD Frans Vanistendael Award, the award will be presented in two distinct categories:

  • The IBFD Frans Vanistendael Award for Books (“FVIA for Books”)
  • The IBFD Frans Vanistendael Award for Articles and Book Chapters (“FVIA for Articles and Book Chapters”)

Until the 11th edition which was awarded in May 2025, all submitted works - including articles, books, book chapters, and monographs - were evaluated within a single category. However, in response to the growing number of submissions and our commitment to recognizing excellence across different formats, we have decided to establish a separate category for books and a separate category for articles and book chapters.

Both awards will hold equal prestige and monetary value. Full details on the award and competition rules can be found here. 

We hope this evolution will encourage even more submissions and further expand the reach of the IBFD Frans Vanistendael Award.
