IBFD Expert João Nogueira to Share Insights on BEFIT Proposal at EU Hearing
We are pleased to announce that João Nogueira, Deputy Academic Chairman of IBFD, has been invited to provide valuable technical feedback on the European Commission's BEFIT proposal at a public hearing organized by the EU's European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).
The public hearing, titled “Business in Europe Framework for Income Taxation (BEFIT) – challenges at national and EU level”, took place on January 25, 2024, from 9:30 to 13:00 in Brussels. João Nogueira shared his insights on the BEFIT proposal and its implications for businesses and tax authorities. The hearing was open to the public and the recording can be watched on the EESC website, at this link.
This valuable feedback from João Nogueira will contribute to the EESC's recommendations for European legislators and further enhance IBFD's involvement in monitoring EC proposals on direct taxation.
The invitation follows a previous input statement provided by the IBFD Task Force on EU Law on the BEFIT proposal, available in open access at this link.
