The Doctoral Meeting of Researchers in International Taxation (DocMIT) is an annual gathering in our Amsterdam Headquarters where doctoral students can present their current research to experts and peers from around the globe.

The Doctoral Meeting of Researchers in International Taxation (DocMIT) is an exceptional event tailored for doctoral students working on their theses in the fields of international, European, or comparative tax law.
Scheduled to take place at the IBFD Head Office in Amsterdam on 29-30 January 2026, this event offers a unique platform for participants to present their research, receive personalized coaching from leading international tax professors, and engage in enriching discussions with peers from around the globe.
What is the eligibility criteria?
A maximum of 12 doctoral students will be admitted, selected based on the quality and originality of their research. We are looking for applicants who:
• Have made substantial progress in their research, with the doctoral manuscript not having been submitted by the time of the meeting.
• Possess well-defined research questions.
• Preferably have some preliminary conclusions.
How do you apply?
Submit a short CV, a synopsis of your research (use this template), and a certificate of enrolment in an official PhD programme to academic@ibfd.org by 1 September 2025.
• Selected participants will be announced by 15 September 2025.
• Final materials are due by 1 December 2025.
