Dr. Jeroen Lammers is Assistant Professor of International Tax Law at Copenhagen Business School as well as a Partner at Publyon, a firm that consults on the possible impact of changes in public policy regarding taxation and sustainability. His research focuses on the intersection between international and EU tax law and other areas of research such as economics, social studies and/or (legal) philosophy.
Dr. Lammers was awarded his PhD by the University of Amsterdam for his thesis “The Spirit of International Tax Law” (forthcoming in IBFD’s Doctoral Series). Prior to his academic career, held several positions in the Dutch Business Confederation (VNO-NCW), amongst which Director of Economic Policy and Head of Tax Policy. Between 2016 and 2019 he was a member of the European Commission’s Platform for Tax Good Governance on behalf of BUSINESSEUROPE.
Dr. Lammers’ list of publications include “The Case for an EU Cap on Interest on Underpaid Tax: Protecting the Internal Market” (Intertax, 2024), “The EU Solidarity Contribution and a More Proportional Alternative: A Study under EU and International Investment Law” (Intertax 2023, with B. Kuźniacki) and “Has Public Opinion Moved the Political Needle on Corporate Tax Avoidance?” (Tax Notes International 2021). As IBFD correspondent for Denmark, he contributes regularly to our News and Case Law collections, our VAT LawLink publication and several of our Quick Reference Tables.
