IBFD signs Memorandum of Understanding with Indonesian Tax AuthoritiesJul-13-2020
On 9 July 2020, the Director General of Taxation of Indonesia, Mr Suryo Utomo, and Victor van Kommer, Director of Tax Services, IBFD, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the period 2020-2025.
The ceremony took place in a virtual setting, with a simultaneous signing of the document in Jakarta and Amsterdam. The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, funding the cooperation, was represented by Mrs Guusta Visser of the Dutch Embassy.
The MoU is the result of a collaboration that started in 2015. Since then, many Directorate General of Taxation (DGT) officials have been trained by IBFD staff. The following topics were covered in the training sessions: developments in international taxation, mandatory disclosure trends, international auditing aspects and transfer pricing techniques.
In the coming years, we will further build on this relationship by broadening the cooperation to include assessing tax treaties concluded by Indonesia, the effectiveness of tax incentive regulations, domestic tax law and internal processes. Most importantly, DGT and IBFD staff have developed a great understanding of each other and have created lasting friendships as a result of it.
