IBFD at the University of Cape TownMar-16-2020
For the 6th consecutive year, IBFD and the University of Cape Town have organized an intensive week of teaching and workshops. The students engaged with Dr. João Nogueira (also an honorary associate professor at the university) from IBFD Academic, Belema Obuoforibo (Director of the IBFD Knowledge Centre) and Ola Ostaszewska (Head of the European Knowledge Group).
The week culminated in a public seminar in which the IBFD team were joined by Profs Jennifer Roeleveld, Johann Hattingh and Craig West in unpacking the OECD's Pillars 1 and 2. The timing was highly appropriate, as the seminar was held as the OECD held their webinar assessing the economic impacts of the Pillars. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the seminar. As one delegate wrote, “I found the manner in which you unpacked Pillar I and II very meaningful and I look forward to the other upcoming events”. During the public seminar, the UCT-IBFD prize for the best master's dissertation on an international tax topic was awarded to Michiel Martinus Eksteen.
