10th IBFD International Tax Conference and Tax Training Course in ShenzhenNov-07-2019
In keeping with IBFD’s continual commitment to China’s international tax affairs, IBFD held the 10th International Tax Conference on 17 October, on a complimentary basis, in Shenzhen, China. We are delighted to report that the conference was a great success with 240 attendees, including scholars and senior tax practitioners. It was the first time that IBFD hosted its annual conference in Shenzhen, and the conference was extended from a half-day to a one-day event to accommodate a special afternoon session.
This year’s conference, “Selected tax issues and transfer pricing in China and around the globe”, included three current hot topics, namely taxation of the digitalized economy, taxpayers’ rights and developments in transfer pricing. The distinguished speakers who were invited, apart from the keynote speaker from IBFD, included tax officials from the OECD, State Taxation Administration, Alibaba and several European countries, as well as partners from Maisto e Associati in Italy, who provided in-depth views of these topics from different angles. We are very happy to see the platform for discussion and exchange in the tax field that was set up by this conference, which the participants warmly welcomed and praised.
IBFD International Tax Training Course
The conference was preceded, from 15-16 October, by a two-day international tax training course on “Current Issues in International Taxation – The Chinese Outbound Perspective”, attended by 40 participants. The course focused on utilizing the remaining tax planning opportunities for Chinese outbound investments and spotting potential safe harbours. All the participants greatly benefited from and highly praised the training course.
