Observatory on the Protection of Taxpayers’ Rights - Launch of the 2019 General Report

24 March 2020 – Event Postponement: Launch of the 2019 Annual OPTR Report

Due to the ongoing situation regarding COVID-19, the Netherlands has introduced a ban on all organized gatherings of more than three people until June 1. For this reason, IBFD has postponed the ‘Observatory on the Protection of Taxpayers’ Rights - Launch of the 2019 General Report’ event, which was scheduled to take place on 13 May.

Thank you for your ongoing support of the Observatory on the Protection of Taxpayers’ Rights.

Taxpayers' rights serve as the foundation for effective tax administration. Whether expressed through a taxpayer bill, charter of rights, or a declaration of human rights, governments have long recognized that providing taxpayers with assurances of fair treatment and respect and protection against government overreaching boosts voluntary compliance. Current research is exploring the extent to which procedural justice encourages the willingness of taxpayers to comply with tax laws and obligations. On 13 May, the Academic Chairman of IBFD, Prof. Pasquale Pistone will present the Launch of the 2019 Annual OPTR Report, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The conference is hosted by the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD) in cooperation with The Dutch Association of Tax Advisers (NOB) and the CFE Tax Advisers Europe.
