Taxpayers' rights serve as the foundation for effective tax administration. Whether expressed through a taxpayer bill, charter of rights, or a declaration of human rights, governments have long recognized that providing taxpayers with assurances of fair treatment and respect and protection against government overreaching boosts voluntary compliance. Current research is exploring the extent to which procedural justice encourages the willingness of taxpayers to comply with tax laws and obligations. On 13 May, the Academic Chairman of IBFD, Prof. Pasquale Pistone will present the Launch of the 2019 Annual OPTR Report, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The conference is hosted by the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD) in cooperation with De Nederlandse Orde van Belastingadviseurs (NOB) and the Confédération Fiscale Européenne (CFE).
