Tjeerd van den Berg is a PwC Partner, leading the Netherlands Tax Reporting & Strategy team. In addition, he leads the EMEA Tax Accounting Services team. He has over 20 years of international tax experience, mainly focused on assisting listed multinationals on a broad variety of tax governance, risk, reporting and compliance strategy topics.
Mr van den Berg started his career as a specialist in international group structuring and restructuring, the related transfer pricing issues, mergers and acquisitions, and group financing issues, often involving the use of typical financial instruments and various applications of hybrid tax structures. Since 2008, he has fully dedicated his time to tax accounting and reporting, and he now specializes in annual and interim income tax reporting and the disclosure requirements under both IFRS and US GAAP. He focuses on the tax audit and advisory issues of predominantly multinational enterprises and the development of various tax accounting and reporting solutions.
As a tax accounting specialist, Mr van den Berg is assigned to lead the tax accounting team(s) in the (corporate consolidated) audit of various international and multinational (mostly listed) clients. He also leads tax accounting and reporting improvement projects resulting in improved governance, risk management and compliance for management and towards other (external) stakeholders or regulators.
Mr van den Berg also regularly provides lectures and writes articles on both general and specific tax accounting subjects, and he has edited and contributed to the IBFD publication Tax Accounting – Unravelling The Mystery of Income Taxes, which is part of the online collection Tax Accounting and Risk Management.
