Rezan Ökten is Transfer Pricing counsel at Houthoff in the Netherlands. He has in-depth transfer pricing knowledge and experience in the technology and telecommunications industry and has previously worked both as an adviser and in-house specialist.
He started his career at a Big4 firm, where he advised clients on transfer pricing projects involving business restructurings, intangibles, headquarter cost allocation models, financial transactions, advance pricing agreements, tax audits, and dispute resolution for large multinationals, small and medium-sized enterprises in various industries. He later worked as a global in-house transfer pricing specialist at two of the largest technology and telecommunications companies in the world (Liberty Global and VEON).
Mr Ökten studied Business Economics in Turkey and Germany and obtained an Advanced LLM in International Tax Law from Leiden University. He is a lecturer at the University of Amsterdam, where he teaches Transfer Pricing at the Advanced LLM programme in International Taxation. He has written a number of articles, with a focus on the transfer pricing aspects of intangibles and cost contribution arrangements, and is (co-)author of two transfer pricing books. Mr Ökten is a member of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers (Nederlandse Orde van Belastingadviseurs) and the International Fiscal Association (IFA).
