Peter Kinuthia is a Tax Partner with KPMG based in Nairobi, Kenya. He joined the firm in June 2003 after a 3-year stint in the corporate world working with Bidco Oil Refineries and the Nation Media Group. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Hons. from the University of Nairobi and a master’s in business administration (strategic management) from the United States International University. He is also a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya, the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya and the Law Society of Kenya.
Mr Kinuthia has over 20 years’ post qualification experience in accounting/tax and legal fields. Before his current specialization, he acquired extensive experience in the provision of general and specialized tax compliance and advisory services, including corporate and personal taxation, customs and excise, and value added tax.
Mr Kinuthia now specializes in international taxation and leads the Transfer Pricing practice for KPMG in East Africa. He has been involved in assisting clients with the preparation of TP documentation, controversy and tax dispute resolution as well as negotiations with competent authorities on mutual agreement procedures.
