Laila Benchekroun is currently Head of the International Tax Treaties Unit at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Moroccan General Administration of Taxes. She is also a competent authority on the exchange of information under tax treaties.
Mrs Benchekroun is also part of the Secondary Management Committee of IBFD’s Centre for Studies in African Taxation (CSAT). Prior to 2009, Mrs Benchekroun held the position of Senior Research Associate at IBFD within the Africa-Middle East Knowledge Group.
Before joining IBFD, Mrs Benchekroun worked for 10 years at the Moroccan General Administration of Taxes, mainly as a tax auditor.
Mrs Benchekroun holds an MBA in Finance from Robert Anderson School of Management (University of New Mexico, United States) and an LLM in International Tax Law from Leiden University (International Tax Center, Netherlands).
