Koen De Grave is Managing Tax Director and Tax Accounting Services Leader at PwC Tax Belgium. He gained international experience in this area at the PwC US National Tax Accounting Services Practice. During his stay in the United States, he was one of the six members of the PwC US IFRS Tax Steering Committee.
Mr De Grave represents the PwC Belgium Tax Department in the PwC Belgium Financial Reporting Committee and is also a core Team Member of the European Tax Accounting Services Group. He has extensive experience in tax accounting for both US GAAP and IFRS reporting clients. Over the years, he has been involved in the coordination of a variety of cross-border tax accounting projects on acquisitions, (de)mergers, IPOs, US GAAP conversions, IFRS conversions and tax accounting remediation. He also coordinates cross-border outsourcing projects for tax accounting and corporate tax compliance. Since January 2014, he has been one of the members of PwC Belgium’s Tax Technical Committee, which aims to provide support to the wider PwC Belgium tax practice by developing a common position on tax technical subjects and review tax technical positions developed by client teams.
Mr De Grave holds a master’s degree in Business Economics and a university degree as an instructor in Economics (both University of Antwerp), a postgraduate degree in financial accounting (EMS Brussels) and a master-after-master degree in Tax Law (University of Antwerp). He is a chartered tax consultant and accountant at the Belgian Institute for Chartered Accountants and Tax Consultants. Furthermore, he is a Visiting Professor at Ghent University (Master in Taxation), acts as (guest) lecturer on International Taxation and Transfer Pricing at the Universities of Lausanne, Maastricht and Antwerp and has (co)authored various articles and books on topics related to tax accounting.
