Johanne Hague heads the tax practice at Juristconsult Chambers in Mauritius. She has more than ten year’s experience in UK and international tax law and, more recently, has developed experience in Mauritius tax laws. She advises multinational and domestic clients on complex transactions involving Mauritius. Over the past few years, Mrs Hague has developed considerable expertise in FATCA and CRS and regularly delivers bespoke in-house training courses and client seminars on FATCA and CRS.
Before joining Juristconsult Chambers, Mrs Hague was an in-house tax counsel at the London branch of JPMorgan Chase Bank N.A. In this capacity, she provided front-office tax support on cross-border transactions relating to emerging markets in EMEA, including several African jurisdictions and the Middle East. Prior to that, she was a lawyer in the tax department at Linklaters LLP in London and her areas of expertise included investment funds, cross-border corporate transactions and corporate restructurings.
Mrs Hague is a solicitor of England and Wales and has also recently been called to the Bar of England and Wales. She holds a LLB from King’s College London and a maitrise en droits francais et anglais from Université de Paris 1, Panthéon-Sorbonne. She is also a member of the executive committee of the Mauritius branch of the International Fiscal Association.
