Irma Mosquera

Dr Irma Mosquera is a Senior Research Associate and Technical Editor of IBFD's Global Tax Treaty Commentaries (GTTC). She joined the Academic Department as a postdoctoral research fellow in tax treaty-related issues, a position that she finalized successfully with a publication in the World Tax Journal. She also works as a tax adviser at Hamelink & Van den Tooren. 

In 2007, Dr Mosquera obtained her PhD (cum laude) at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. She has also worked as a tax adviser at PwC in the Netherlands and as an assistant professor at the University of Utrecht.

Dr Mosquera has been a speaker on tax law issues at several conferences and seminars in Europe, Latin America and the United States. Her areas of expertise are international tax law and comparative tax law in developed and developing countries. She is also a member of the International Fiscal Association, the Dutch Fiscal Association and the Netherlands Comparative Law Association and a member of the international research project entitled “Sustainable Tax Governance in Developing Countries through Global Tax Transparency”, financed by the Research Council of Norway.

Dr Mosquera has published several articles in peer-reviewed and non peer-reviewed journals. She speaks Dutch, English and Spanish, her native language.
