George L. Salis is an economist, lawyer and tax professional with almost 30 years of experience in international taxation and trade compliance, tax planning and controversy, fiscal regulation and tax economics consulting. He specializes in international economic law, comprising taxation, fiscal, economic and trade policy analysis, transfer pricing, international trade law, and EU taxation economic law and policy.

He is a Principal Economist and Tax Policy Advisor at Vertex Inc., and an Adjunct Professor at the Graduate Tax LLM programmes at Texas A&M University School of Law and the University of Florida, Levin College of Law.
Mr Salis is the recipient of the Advanced Certificate in EU Law from the Academy of European Law, European University Institute in Florence, and the Executive Certificate in Economic Development from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He holds a BSc in Economics and Political Science, an LLB (Honours), an MA in Legal and Ethical Studies, and an LLM (Honours) in International Tax Law. He also holds a PhD in International Law and Economic Policy and is a Certified Business Economist (NABE Charter).
He is the recipient of three university excellence teaching awards and the Citizen Diplomat Award from the International Council of Central Florida, US Department of State for Diplomatic and International Trade Assistance (2003).
Mr Salis is the author of many articles related to international tax, economics, fiscal and tax policy, global trade and finance in many professional publications, professional magazines and journals, such as Tax Notes, the American Academy Journal of Financial Management, CFO Magazine and Financial Executives International, among others.
