Dr. Federica Pitrone was an postdoctoral research fellow at IBFD Academic. She was also Lecturer at Maastricht University (the Netherlands). She has been a visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Tax Law and Public Finance, Munich (Germany) and at the Institute for Austrian and International Tax Law, WU, Vienna (Austria). Here, she has also been teaching assistant on European Tax Law. Furthermore, she has been a guest researcher of the International Tax Program at New York University (United States). She holds a PhD in Tax Law (2014) from the Luiss Guido Carli University, Rome (Italy), where she has also been a research and teaching associate.
Her areas of expertise are environmental taxation (topic of her dissertation), tax policy, EU tax law and international taxation, fields in which she has published several articles and contributions in Italian and English. She participates in various funded research projects collaborating with different universities and she is regularly invited to present at conferences and seminars on both international and Italian taxation. She was awarded the 2012 Uckmar Visiting Research Scholarship in International Tax Law.
She is a member of the Rome Bar Association and of the Max Planck Alumni Association.
