Dame Gladys Olajumoke Simplice
Dame Gladys Olajumoke Simplice finished high school at the Saint Gregory's College, Obalende, Lagos and proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University, Samaru, Zaria where she graduated with a BSc in Economics.
She trained in accountancy at A B Alabi & Co/Alabi Bakoh Ekundare & Co. (Chartered Accountants and Secretaries) and was thereafter employed as an Assistant Accountant at Transcontinental Fisheries Ltd in Lagos.
In August 1982, she commenced her tax career with the Federal Inland Revenue Department (now Federal Inland Revenue Service) and retired after 27 years of a fulfilling and meritorious service. She became Head of Channels Management of the Corporate Communication Department of the FIRS in 2009. There she initiated the idea of a Revenue Museum, which is still a work in progress at the FIRS.
She has played a strong supportive role in the development of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria since 1982 and continues to provide total commitment to the Institute to this date. She has successfully headed several Committees of Council and until her election as the 14th President of the CITN, was the Chairman of the Finance and General Purposes Committee.
