Clive Jie-A-Joen works in the Financial Markets practice group of Simmons & Simmons LLP. His practice focuses on analysing, designing, planning, organizing, documenting and defending the transfer pricing policies of multinational enterprises. He is also an expert in the valuation of intangibles and the transfer pricing aspects of business restructuring and regularly lectures and writes articles on transfer pricing.
Mr Jie-A-Joen earned a PhD degree in Economics from the Erasmus University Rotterdam in 1997, his dissertation addressing the economic aspects of transfer pricing. In December 2013, he obtained an MSc degree at the TiasNimbas Business School after successfully completing the Executive Master in Business Valuation programme (cum laude), winning the Best Student Award in the process.
Furthermore, he has two decades of experience working on transfer pricing analyses for clients in various industries, including real estate, hedge funds, semi-conductor equipment, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, hotels, aircraft components, oil field services, automobiles, fashion, executive recruitment, fluid control equipment and services, building products and software.
In addition to being a member of the Royal Netherlands Economic Association and the Dutch Order of Tax Advisors (NOB), Mr Jie-A-Joen lectures at IBFD, the Erasmus University Rotterdam and the Stichting Opleiding Belastingadviseurs (SOB). He is affiliated with the Tax Law department of the Erasmus University Rotterdam and is a board member of the Transfer Pricing section of the NOB.
