Dr Boniphace Luhende is a lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam School of Law in Tanzania. He holds an LLB and an LLM from the University of Dar es Salaam (obtained in 2008 and 2011, respectively), a post-graduate diploma in legal practice from the Law School of Tanzania (obtained in 2013) and a PhD from the University of Cape Town (obtained in 2017). Dr Luhende is also admitted to practise law in Tanzania and works on a part-time basis with FB Attorneys in Dar es Salaam.
Dr Luhende has previously served as an assistant tax consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers Tanzania, coordinator of the certificate in law programme at the University of Dar es Salaam School of Law, member of the Legal Aid Committee at the University of Dar es Salaam School of Law, assistant editor of the Tanzania Tax Law Report (2006-2011 edition) and research assistant at the Centre for Studies of Forced Migration at the University of Dar es Salaam School of Law. Dr Luhende teaches Tax Law, Law of Business Associations and Law of Contract at the undergraduate level, and, in addition to serving as a stream coordinator for the LLM in taxation, he teaches Tax Policy and Theory, Income Tax Law, Indirect Taxes and International Taxation at the post-graduate level.
Dr Luhende is also a visiting lecturer at the University of Cape Town, where he teaches Oil and Gas Taxation and Royalties, Oil and Gas Contracts Negotiations and Mineral Law.
