Oladapo Babatunde is the pioneer Executive Secretary of WATAF (West African Tax Administrations Forum) and has garnered 17 years’ work experience at the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) in Nigeria, cutting across media communications, project management, stakeholder relationship management and general tax administration duties.
Mr Oladapo was part of the working group that laid the ground work for the successful conduct of the OECD’s Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes peer review of the Nigerian tax system. He was also actively engaged in the Capacity Enhancement Programme (CEP) of the FIRS to increase non-oil tax revenue; Mr. Oladapo played a lead role in communications with the project’s stakeholders.
Apart from work as a tax administrator, Mr. Oladapo also had a stint as a journalist with a bias for crime-centred investigative journalism.
Professionally, Mr. Oladapo is an associate member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a postgraduate diploma in journalism.
