Antonio Russo

Antonio Russo is Partner (Economist) with Baker & McKenzie and heads the Amsterdam Transfer Pricing Team, which has been awarded the International Tax Review Award for The Netherlands Transfer Pricing Firm of the year in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2010 and 2012. Mr Russo specializes in transfer pricing-related design, implementation and valuation of companies and intangible assets. Moreover, he provides advice relating to inter-company financial transactions, ranging from pricing fixed-income securities, hybrids and derivatives to conducting credit rating and guarantee fee analyses to implementing cash concentration and centralized treasury structures. He has extensive experience in tax planning/restructuring engagements and has performed transfer pricing studies for clients in a wide range of industries, including providing assistance to clients developing strategies for the conclusion of APAs as well as tax audit defence in multiple European countries as well as in the Americas and Asia.

Mr Russo lectures at various seminars and conferences in Europe, the Americas and Asia, e.g. as speaker on the EU Fiscalis Program, ITR Global Transfer Pricing Forum and Bloomberg BNA conferences in various editions. He is involved in training tax authorities on transfer pricing: Italian, Danish, Singaporean and Korean tax authorities among them. He is a Fellow of the International Tax Center of the University of Leiden, where he regularly teaches Transfer Pricing at the Advanced LLM Program in International Taxation. He is a visiting lecturer with other universities, such as the Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), the University of Padova (Italy), the European Tax College at the University of Leuven (Belgium) and the Aarhus University (Denmark). Furthermore, Mr Russo has built up a diverse portfolio of publications, e.g. with IBFD and BNA, and contributes articles to Intertax, International Tax Review, the Journal of International Taxation and Highlights & Insights on European Taxation.
