Summary
An in-depth look at the tax system of Hungary. Since the completion of Hungary's legal and tax system reforms which commenced more than a decade ago in the transition from a centrally planned to a modern market economy, recent amendments have mainly focused on fine-tuning. This book recapitulates Hungary‘s experiences to date in the area of fiscal law.
The book provides the basics of the national fiscal law, while seeking to clarify the fiscal law implications of cross-border transactions. While keeping the description of the principles of taxation to a minimum, the book aims to identify the tax consequences of transactions, business schemes and company structures. Based on international standards and comparison with foreign law, the national and international tax law considerations of the major categories of taxable income are analysed.
