ITA in-house training courses can either be one of the standard ITA Courses or a tailor-made course, designed in consultation with the client.

Objectives and Prerequisites
  • Introductory courses aim at providing a sound basic knowledge related to a wide range of topics and an understanding of how such knowledge can be applied in practice. The target group may have limited experience in dealing with the issues covered during the course.
  • Intermediate courses are designed to provide a thorough understanding of the more complex issues relating to a specific topic. The group is expected to have a good knowledge of the domestic law of at least one country in the area covered by the course, previous experience in dealing with cross-border taxation and a good understanding of the basic principles underlying the topic.
  • Advanced courses tackle selected complex issues related to specific topics by means of advanced and practical workshops using case studies and group discussions to examine the application of principles in complex real-world scenarios. The group is expected to have a thorough knowledge of the domestic tax system of at least one country, in particular the international aspects, and a broad knowledge of the issues and current developments in international tax law.
Delivery of the Course
  • Classic: this method provides interactive presentations on the specific topics with the instructor(s). In addition, case studies are provided to enable the participants to apply the knowledge gained during the day.
  • Workshop: within the workshop framework, the participants are able to apply their knowledge by means of case studies. The participants are expected to work in small groups and to actively provide their solutions to the group. The instructors will assist the participants and lead the case studies.
