Taxes through the Ages: A Pictorial History & Tax Tales: From the Second Millennium
Why this book?
Taxation has a long and colourful past. Since it would be impossible to cover all its aspects, the book is limited to selected topics. The focus of the book is on the influence of taxation on society and the development of tax law itself. The book, comprising numerous figures and images, provides a mixture of historical fact as well as the incidental anecdote.

Knowledge of the past paves the way for a better understanding of the present, and this is surely true of such a complicated subject as taxation.
