Kannan Raman is an International Tax Specialist and a Senior Manager with Ernst & Young LLP in London. Prior to joining Ernst & Young, Mr Raman was with Grant Thornton in their international tax team, where he advised a number of European and Indian groups on tax-efficient listing and financing structures. Prior to relocating to London, he worked for Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen in India, where he assisted multinationals with tax planning, including investment structures, financing alternatives, tax treaty analysis and tax litigation on domestic tax and tax treaty issues. He also advised a number of domestic and multinational companies on complex transactions that involved acquisitions, mergers, divestments and other business reorganizations. Mr Raman is a qualified Chartered Accountant, CPA, CFA (India), and has completed the three levels of the CFA program, (United States). He has worked extensively in the field of international tax and has spoken at a number of forums and published many articles on tax-related issues.
