Maria Eduarda Simões

Maria Eduarda Simões

 

Maria Eduarda Simões is Head of the tax department of Nunes Costa Advocacia in Recife, Brazil. She has almost 20 years of expertise in Brazilian tax law at the municipal, state and federal level.

Mrs Simões has a specialization in foreign trade and holds a Master in International Tax Law (Leiden University). As former counselor/judge at the Brazilian Administrative Tax Courts, she spent 6 years at the Federal Administrative Tax Court in Brasília (CARF) and 4 years at the Municipal Tax Court in Recife (CAF), dealing with a variety of federal and municipal tax issues.

Mrs Simões has lectured at various events across the globe on Brazilian tax matters and their national and international implications. She has published several articles and studies, both in English and in Portuguese.

Mrs Simões is the author of IBFD´s Country Tax Guides on Corporate and Individual Taxation, as well as correspondent for our Tax News, Tax Compliance Tables, and Digital Taxation Monitor, all in relation to Brazil.
