Research Students Meeting

Since 2001, the IBFD Academic Department hosts a (bi-)annual meeting of doctoral students writing a thesis on a subject in comparative, international and/or European tax law. The sessions, which run over two to three days, are chaired by panels of renowned academics invited from all over the world. The meeting takes place at the premises of IBFD in Amsterdam.

The meeting provides research students doing doctoral work the opportunity to discuss their research with leading academic experts and a select circle of colleagues, and receive tailored coaching to help their project progress.

The unique setting at IBFD also helps the participants to quickly build and increase their own network of international contacts. Since 2008, as a result of its success, the frequency of the meeting has been increased from bi-annually to annually. It is usually held in the first week of July.

Admission is through application. Participation is free of charge, but participants are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses. For participants of the seminar who follow a doctoral programme at university, credits are available.
